歐洲遊學遊記點我

After getting down the glass roof boat, we headed to our next stop: Albert Cuyp market. We get down the bus across the Heineken museum; Sharon said that they can actually put this museum into our trip if we were 18, because people can get free sip while visiting it. :P

Walking in to the alleys, lots of bicycles were parked on the road, because cars weren’t allowed in here. The whole street, Albert Cuypstraat, was full of shops, having restaurants or stores on the first floor of houses on both sides, and two strips of tent set in the middle of the road. It was about 500 meters I guess, since it didn’t take us a long time to walk through it without taking a closer look at the stands.

There were various kinds of cheap goods in the market for us to search for the ones we want, but it is far from the traditional markets in Taiwan . Fruits, vegetables, fish, meat and other fresh food were sold, but the atmosphere wasn’t filled with the strong smell we usually smell in Taiwan . A few people were selling flowers here as well, not to mention the dairy products.

Many other things were also sold in this market. Clothes, shoes, bags, small accessories even suitcases can be found. Takeaway food stands like French fries, hot dog, juice, and sandwiches also attracts people to buy. There’s even a large French fires’ model at one end of the street. :D The stores on the first floor of the buildings were mostly restaurant for people to sit down and clothes shores. Only few of them sell other things like: decorations, souvenirs, electronic devices, and so on.

The sad thing is we came here too late, because it was around 4:30, and most of the businessmen were packing up their things, some tents were even empty already! In spite of the experience in the afternoon, I went on wandering alone again. To me, there’s nothing better than wandering in a strange country. You can find many things that other people in your group couldn’t find, and it’s a good way to exercise. :D Though, it’s actually a dangerous thing to do for a young girl. :P

Well, this time, I NEARLY got lost, and I begin to think that if there’s really a compass in my mind, because I got back to the Heineken museum by instinct... = = Yet, it was a great trip. :D

Crossing an unknown cannel, I realized that here is a residential area. The cannel is wider, and some small houses were built above the water with a speedboat in front of it. There are more trees here, and less people and vehicles on road. I discovered that the tram trail and its station are in the middle of the road with the other vehicles on both sides.

I walked for a while in a park. I saw squirrels and some birds in the trees. There was a large fountain there, with water spouting out from different holes on the ground. To my surprise, there were children playing in it. o.0 It wasn’t cold that day, but I don’t think it’s hot enough to play in water. :P

My camera ran out of battery while taking pictures in the park, because I was exciting using the computer last night and forgot to charge the battery. I was SOOO regret that I forgot to charge it last night, because I saw a REALLY handsome guy after I left the park. QAQ Whatever, secretly taking pictures of others is not a good thing.

Seeing the Heineken museum is really a happy thing after the long walk. There weren’t any roads on the other side of the cannel, so I have to walk at the street which wasn’t straight, and that street ended at a traffic circle away from the cannel. A wrong turn at the traffic circle might lead me to another place. :P

Seeing there were still much time left (because I was afraid to go too far), I walked back to the Albert Cuyp market. This time, the market is almost empty. I went into a McDonald, and found the menu in Dutch instead of English; I thought English is their official language… @_@

It took us some time to get to the restaurant for dinner, for neither Sharon nor the bus driver knows where the restaurant is. = = We have dinner at the basement, which is about the height of the cannel, and the scene is actually quiet good if you look out of the window. Some ducks were swimming in the water, and there were people also in their boats, going through the cannel. :D

We had a three-course meal again, but this time we have dessert instead of appetizer. :) The table wasn’t set even though we were already late. We started to talked about what we are going to have for dinner because the knife they placed on the table have larger saw tooth on it.

The onion soup came first, with a piece of garlic bread soaked wet, floating on the soup. = = I personally don’t like wet bread, and there were too much pepper in the soup…

The main course came after a long time after the soup bowl was taken away. We all have a big piece of pork and French fries for dinner. Because the pork has different thickness, so the thinner part was over-cooked while the thickest part was a bit raw in the middle. :P Despite those two parts, the pork itself is great. :D If we eat with normal knifes use on dinning table, I guess no one can enjoy their dinner easily.

I was fooled but the dessert when it was send to the table. I though it was cake at first, but when I actually taste it, I don’t know what it was. The three layer dessert tasted like three different flavors of something like ice cream and mousse together.

Finally when we got to the hotel, Sharon told us that tomorrow we will have another bus driver to send us to the airport, so we all thank the man who had been with us these days. :)

The hotel room is surprisingly large; it might be bigger than some four people rooms in Taiwan ! O.0 There is also doors between some rooms. Well, Karen and I block it with our luggage. :P We were informed that the Internet here is 5 per day. Due to my Facebook soul, I paid for it and gave up taking a bath. I took a quick shower instead, though the bathroom is big and comfortable. We did found something funny in the room, the toilet was separated from the bathroom, and there’s no toilet paper in it! 0.0

Tomorrow is our last day of trip in Europe . I went to bed REALLY late that night, thinking that I can sleep through the whole way on the plane tomorrow.
