在Bury St Edmunds享用午餐~~
英法比荷遊學7.21
When we got up, Saila and Moreman had already left.
Today, we all of the students are going to a small town near Cambridge called Bury St Edmunds. We left Select right after all of us get our lunch. Since we had to sit with the class, Sanleen invited me to sit with her. When we are getting our lunch, I found that there are smaller sandwiches in the box. The amount is about half of the original ones, which is right for me. :)) The bread tasted better than the original ones, because the bread outside is different and softer.
I talked with Sanleen, in Chinese, all the way to Bury. We sometimes still have to think for a little bit because of the ascent, Sanleen stated that they speak Cantonese more often back in Hong Kong . She also said that they need to learn Traditional Chinese characters as well, and going to bed at one in the morning is a really normal thing. o.0 They also need to go to cram schools, and she is surprised that I didn’t go to cram school. = =
We talked all the way to Bury, and both of us were confused why did the time went so slow while we’re talking. Normally time went REALLY fast when girls are chatting. = = When we get down the car, I found out that we were not allowed to eat on the bus. 0.0 And the other Taiwanese students were surprised that I finished my sandwich.
It wasn’t cold, however, I’m too lazy to ‘take care’ of my jacket so I wear it instead. We went to visited St Edmundsbury Cathedral, well it’s actually a church. = = I’m actually enough with the church, but if we think in another way, we always bring tourists to temples in Taiwan . This church is different than the other churches I’ve seen before. It’s basically all white, and there is also a back yard.
When I was wandering around alone in the church, I accidentally saw Sharon dragging Yui’s arm and want to take a picture with him. = = Yui looks a bit shy… I don’t think it’s good to do this, but if he doesn’t hate it, then it’s OK.
All the other students have their lunch at the back yard. It wasn’t really big, but the atmosphere feels really good. Since I’ve already finished my lunch, I walked around and started taking pictures with other teachers. Some Taiwanese students also take pictures after I took pictures with the teachers, because they said they don’t have the courage to ask by themselves. = =
I also asked Alex! > 3<)/ (Lalalalala~) However, I was too excited. I accidentally bump him and he spilled his beer(?) on his shirt (a bit). T^T (Alex~ I am SOOOOO sorry~~) I kept apologizing to him, he forgive me, but I still feel really compunction. Still, I’m REALLY glad to have a picture with him. Others saw me and also started taking out their camera and take pictures with him.
Before we are leaving the church, Sharon asked Will to help us take group picture. :) (Though I want to take with him…)
We went walking on the street. I wasn’t looking forward to find something good for souvenir, because this is a small town and I couldn’t find anything special while wandering throughout the street. The street is pretty short as well, it doesn’t fit people like me who doesn’t like to shop.
Karen called me and she is angry that we didn’t wait for them. = =? I was really confused, because I didn’t even hear she told me to wait for her. She asked me where we are, and she hanged off the conversation. 0.0?! (What is she doing?!) When Karen and Lisa came, none of us said that they’ve heard them to wait for us.
Joe and Edison separate with us because the other girls were interested about the cards in Clinton Cards. It’s a chain store, and I’ve also seen one in Cambridge . I fond a lot of good cards, but I didn’t buy any because the cards were too expensive. I REALLY want to buy a mouse stuffed toy, but I’m afraid that my mom will be scared of mouse. There are a series of cards that make fun of pictures of mouse. XD
Joe came to us and started complaining about Edison , because he went drinking with Alex, Will, and Andy. Joe couldn’t follow, because he wasn’t 18. We went to McDonalds later, and I bought a McFlurry. I couldn’t understand the staff’s ascent, so I stood there for a long time, wondering to choose which flavor. (I’m glad that there weren’t other customers.) I bought McFlurry with Milky Way, which they put tiny pieces of milk chocolate in it. I didn’t really like it because all of the chocolate were hard being in the ice cream… Though it’s cheaper than the ones in Taiwan , I still miss the Oreo flavor.
While waiting for our bus, I took a picture with Emma and Andy. Later when I am looking at the picture, it suddenly reminds me of a serial (犀利人妻), because I was hugging with Andy and holding Emma’s hands. XDD (They were couples.) I didn’t sit with Sanleen because another Taiwanese student came and asked if she can sit with me or not. Sanleen seems really happy because she bought two pairs of shoes at a low price. :)
It was raining, and we saw a car accident on the way back. o.0 Hope that nothing serious happened. Karen and I didn’t go home right away. Since Saila wasn’t home, we went wandering around near King’s college. Karen brought Chunkit, her classmate from Hong Kong , to the souvenir shop where she bought the jacket. (She also told me that he shared the same name with Alex’s dad.)
I stayed outside and enjoy the weather and atmosphere of Cambridge , I couldn’t believe that we are leaving tomorrow, before any other people in Select. Q^Q I’m definitely going to miss this summer hear, though I couldn’t imagine what will it be like if I come in winter. :P Oh my goodness, I’m starting to miss here. :(((
Karen and Chunkit didn’t stay long in that shop. Chunkit said he felt really embarrassed so he came out when the shopkeeper said that the jacket he was trying on is a female jacket. o.0 I didn’t know which jacket he is trying, but I think every jacket there is neutral… We were asking if he likes any of the jackets inside because we can help him buy it if he is afraid to walk in again, but he refused to say anything. So we brought him to another souvenir shop, and I stayed outside as well. However, they came out after a short time because Chunkit doesn’t have the feeling to keep shopping after that event.
Karen and I heated up the pie that Saila left for us in the refrigerator, though Karen want to eat the wrap I left yesterday, she gave up the idea. When I was just thinking why there weren’t any potato of other things to go with the pie, I found that there is potato inside. = = I take out the milk to go with the pie, because I don’t like the orange juice. Just when I was wondering what to do in the evening (we don’t have evening activity today), I got a phone call from Flo, and she invited us to go out for a walk in Cambridge . :)))
Four of us get the chance to sit at the very front of the second floor on the bus! Though I hope this wasn’t the last chance to sit here, but I guess it is. We decided to meet at the bus station, but we take the bus all the way to school. Four of us enjoy taking pictures on the way. When we’re about school, there is a man on the second floor at the corner. He saw me holding a camera, so he makes a really fun pose and let me took a picture while waiting for the red light. :))
We went into One Step, and I show Flo and Becca the Kitkat that’s on sale. They bought five in total, and I bought another three packs. :P They mentioned a store that they found near the city center last time with Mary, so we decided to go there when all of the people arrived. We went walking in the shopping mall for the very last time. All of the stores were closed. There weren’t many people on the road, I could only hear our voice.
While heading to the store that Flo told us, and we found a small poster which has Taiwan ’s flag on it. Karen looked at it for a long time and still couldn’t find it. o.0 Flo brought us to Sainsbury’s. I bought a lot of things there because most of them were cheap! Well, the things that I want are REALLY cheap. The 400g chocolate chip cookie is only 77p, and the rice tea cookie is 55p!! It was much cheaper than Taiwan , and the 500g corn flacks is only 98p!! (it’s about NT$120 back in Taiwan ) We bought a piece of pizza and shared it together.
I even tried using the self-service cash register, I’ve never tried it before. :))) It was really convenient, because you don’t have to wait in line (there is a lot of machines there). Well… you do have to wait for the coins to fall in (it’s slower than the vending machine), and we couldn’t pay with bills. However, you can pay with credit cards and coupons.
Last night in Cambridge , I was thinking about packing up my things tomorrow when we come back in the afternoon, because there is plenty of time if we skipped the drama performance. However, I still started packing my things, thinking about how I am bringing the cookies back home without breaking them.
I open the dormer, and enjoy the night sky……
