歐洲遊學遊記
In the morning class, we continued talking about the topic yesterday. This time, they talked about the TV programs that we’ve never had before in Taiwan. For example, they let several kind of people live in the same house and put camera in every room, so the audience and see their everyday life. So… I’m kind of like out of the situation. o.0

We also talked about a TV program which is chose 6 people who needs to live on a deserted island for a year. The ones who can live for one year can receive a big price, and we need to act out as a programming chief and chose people. I really think that this kinds of program sounds fun, why don’t we have similar shows in Taiwan? It doesn’t really matter because I seldom watch TV. :P

I can’t stand the hunger again at 12, so I shared a packed of Twixs with Michelle. Most of us decided to go punting this afternoon. :)

In Sophi’s first class, we did a bit of gambling about different countries’ culture. They are quit difficult because they are mostly specific. I even forget why Chinese and Taiwanese people can’t give people clocks as presents! I only remembered that it has something to do with the similar sounds. We all have more than what we’ve got at first, but I win the least. Well… whatever. :)

This time, I shared my sandwich with Becca. I found that the amount is right for me if I only have half of it, so both of us decided to shared sandwiches in the future days.

We went on a walk near school to asked people about the tourist sights, restaurants, and shops in Cambridge for our project. I’m in charged of the shops, but everyone gave me different things, and I couldn’t understand most of them. Q^Q Thank you Sophi for helping me all the way, though I think that I can do it better if I’m on my own. 0.0 I like to do things alone. We went walking on the Mill Rd., which have many different kinds of restaurants on it. I also saw two Chinese shops on the way, but I don’t have time to go in and have a look. I think I will find other time and visit them by myself.

Some of our Taiwanese students can’t go punting because we were separated into two different days, but most of us are today. On the way, Lisa and Karen were singing Taiwanese songs loudly in the front of us. I can’t stand it so I walk behind all of the Taiwanese students, where I can hear Alex and the Portuguese teacher chatting behind us. Alex said that he is really good at punting and he have been to Korean before for three(?) years. 0.0 Sounds really cool! That means that he can speak Korean well! What an impressive teacher.

The Portuguese teacher told that she went punting for a few time before, but it rained every time. After a few minutes it started to drizzle. o.0 Oh no…… Alex said that it’s the perfect day for punting. He was joking but I thought it was true. = = I realized he was joking later… Well, the good thing is that it stopped raining when we get to the dock. :)

We were separated into groups of six. Because there were only eight of us left, so we were separated into two groups of four. Michelle, Flo, Becca and I shared the same boat. I volunteered to punt, Michelle volunteered to control the direction with the paddle, and it was actually harder than I thought! Alex punted for the teachers and told us that the person who punts should be at the BACK of the boat. = = A lot of people who punt stands at the front because we don’t know. It took us a lot of time to get around the other side. The wooden stick that we use to punt is REALLY long and heavy, it is hard to control the direction with the stick in water. Flo and Becca also tried to punt as well. Michelle didn’t want to, she said she rather use the paddle.

We punt really slowly and try to find the key of punting, we actually succeed(?). We still have problems with the direction, and the stick sometimes get stuck in the riverbed (I guess it’s the grass under water). Every time I want to pull the stick up, our boat will eventually go backwards. XD I tried to imitate the way our teachers punt, but it’s still hard for me. We started to go back when we saw a lot of Select students were stuck while trying to turn around and get back to the dock. Thankfully that we weren’t stuck in that big group of mess. :)

On the way back, we met some of the Select student, and they use their boat to hit ours. At first we thought that they accidentally bumped into us, but after we saw them laughing, we know that they did it on purpose. How rude! I don’t know why, but none of us on the boat give them a good look. It started to rain when we almost get to the dock. Alex’s boat had already arrived, I’m still wondering how could they punt so fast. (because of practice?) I said that it was fun but hard, all of the teachers said that I might know the tip of punting next week. I’m REALLY looking forward to the punting next week in the evening (though the sky will still be bright), it is SO much fun!

I also asked how to get to the bus station. Louis, Andy and Alex said that they can send us there because they are going to a book store nearby. I hoped to follow them to the bus station because I might get to hear something interesting again while following. BUT Karen wasn’t back yet! :( So I have to give up this chance.

Their boat finally came back, they all said that Jingyi is really good at punting, and the only boy, Edison, on the boat is useless. = = (don’t know what to say about it) We get home on time, and was shocked about the dinner. Two Hotdogs!!! That’s a lot… Saila was there and we chat throughout the dinner time. (well Karen just kept eating…) She also asked that if we were from Taiwan or China because she was confused when we said we came form Taiwan while the notice she get is two Chinese students.= = Whatever.

We went to the bus station earlier today because Andrea is going to Disco tonight, and she doesn’t want to be late. She is surprised that we weren’t going to Disco because she thinks it’s fun. We still get a lot of fun while playing board games. Select also prepared free Walkers and Cola for us. It was mostly Taiwanese students who chose board games, some of them didn’t even came!

I was finishing my postcards while Michelle and Karen were trying to teach the teachers (I don’t know who) how to play Big Two. They asked me for help, but I didn’t agree, because I don’t even know how to explain the rules of it if I don’t know the English names of different patterns of cars. :P After a few minutes of explaining, they gave up and started playing Uno with others.

Lisa wants to play Sevens(排七), because of the limited number of people, Edison can’t join them. So he took out the Jenga(疊疊樂) and starts playing by his own. He even said that this is what adults play, Sevens are for little kids. XD It is really funny! Michelle and I played two rounds with him and then Lisa came and say that she wants to play what ‘adults’ play. So Edison gives them the Jenga and began to play Wii, Mario Karts. Sharon laughs at him that he drives so badly, no wonder he can’t punt well. Lisa also tried, but she didn’t know how to control the direction.

The teachers there said that we need to leave at 9:30, but we still don’t want to go home. So Sharon leads us to a supermarket called Tesco. We need to cross the railroad and it took us about five minutes of walking. Some of the things are on sale, I even saw a pack of Walkers which contains 16 small packages, and it on;y costs 2! Though the price is really attractive, but I didn’t buy it. Karen and other three people bought a package of pudding, I tried a bit, but it’s too sweet! It is not as soft as the ones in Taiwan as well.

When we walked out, we saw a lot of Select students coming out of a building next to Tesco. They were the ones who go to Disco tonight! o.0 Karen and I tired to find Andrea in the crowd, but unfortunately we failed. So we walked to the bus station with others who take Bus 1 and went back home.
